The Club was formed by a small group of like-minded enthusiastic photographers that wanted to promote the art of photography throughout Abergavenny. After much hard work by the founding members a ‘temporary’ committee was formed and the first meeting was held on the 1st of June 2004.
Abergavenny Camera Club is a fast expanding and friendly club. Our members have various levels of experience ranging from the absolute beginner through to professional photographers who earn a living from this wonderful art.
Currently our membership base stands at around 30 and is growing all the time.

Where, When, and How Much?
If you have any questions that you would like to ask us about the club, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch; you can contact our Club Secretary by clicking on the ‘E-mail Us’ link at the top of this and every page. Alternatively, you can always come and visit us in person on one of our club nights; we guarantee a warm and friendly welcome.
How to Contact Us
The Club meets at 8:00p.m. and the evening runs on until approximately 10:00p.m. There is a short break halfway through the evening that gives everyone a chance to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and to have a chat with other members.
Membership fees have been set for 2010 at £25 for an individual member for the entire year. In addition to the membership fees there is a small door charge of £1 at each meeting, this includes a free cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.
For non-members the door charge is still £1 but we do expect potential members to join the club after attending a number of sessions.
Just like most clubs we have rules. In our case two sets of rules: the general club rules (constitution) and the rules for our internal competitions (assessment of work). If you’re really bored interested you can download them by clicking on the relevant icon below. The documents are in the Portable Document Format (PDF) so you will need Adobe’s Acrobat Reader (or an equivalent) on your machine. Acrobat Reader is free to download and install by clicking on the icon below. Please note these have yet to be updated for 2010.
